Many of the artifacts found at the Village are made of bone.  This engraved gorget captured our attention from the moment it was found.  There were many discussions among the archaeologist as to what kind of animal was represented on the carved bone.  Some said it was a raccoon, others a porcupine.  Upon analysis of the bone, the porcupine team was victorius.  The bone was a porcupine scapula.

This actual size reproduction is so like the original, we dare not place them together!  At approximately 48mm by 30mm, it would make an interesting piece of jewelry or place it in a shadow box for a fascinating conversation piece.
